Flash Fic - a short, short story of exactly 100 words...on some random Friday!

This week - CHERUB

An angelic face hides a secret. The stone carving hosts a small metal tube through its mouth to spout liquid into the fountain. Moss and lichen coat the features, softening the details.

Closer inspection will reveal two baby-sized fangs barely visible past the full lips of the statue. One may even dismiss this fact, believing the sculptor was a bit off. Or, perhaps it was a strange case of erosion that merely look like teeth.

The secret is not fangs nor the fountain. The mystery hides in what liquid pours into the basin. Or rather who’s liquid is being poured.
