A Tour of Abernathy Island - a new series of short horror stories is coming to get you
I have started releasing installments of a haunted horror series of short stories. A Tour of Abernathy Island is a little different than the usual, though. You see, Abernathy Island was a wretched place. The Abernathy clan saw to that. Yet fate has a way of balancing the scales.
Now, many years have passed since the atrocities of that fateful isle. Only ghosts remain. And so, what better subject matter is there to base a children’s Halloween album?
Yet that album was also cursed, doomed to haunt those who heard it until all copies were lost. The last known copy was stolen from a haunted library under mysterious circumstance.
Now, using many corroborating witness interviews and cross-checking against experts, the album has been recreated in transcription form – track for track for in-depth analysis of one of the most haunting incidents of all time. Furthermore, the diary of someone who braved the actual ghostly island accompanies each transcript to enable further study of those hauntings. Together, both pieces of the puzzle promise to unwrap the supernatural enigma.
Each installment of the series features behind the scenes information previously unavailable to collectors of that cursed album as well as a transcript of a ghoulish track and journal entry diving deeper into the legends of Abernathy Island.
Come, take a tour, won’t you? It won't kill you. No promises, though.
A Tour of Abernathy Island
A Traveler’s Journal
1
) The Angry Ocean
Against the better judgment of pretty much everyone I
know, I have decided to rent a rowboat and seek out the fabled Abernathy
Island. It should be the adventure of a lifetime!
2 ) The
Hunting Pack
I hear a rustling noise coming unseen from the grasslands.
It is as if something is stalking me. I must be quiet!
3
) The Cemetery
I have seen things, heard things, and experienced wonders
and terrors few live to tell about..
4 ) The
Abandoned Greenhouse
The air is cloyingly sweet with the odor of the strange
orchids. My vision has blurred and I am dizzy.
5 ) The
Caretaker’s Cottage
This dilapidated shack holds a secret. One that went to
the grave with the skeletal remains of the caretaker lying in the old chair.
6 ) The
Grand Foyer
The darkness is palpable. Candlelight is grossly
insufficient in revealing what hides in shadow. I see movement from the corner
of my eye. I am not alone, though I am certain there is not another living soul
on the island.
7 ) The
Fainting Room
The fainting room held true to its name. I wonder how long
I was cataleptic. I know something happened to me whilst I was unconscious.
8 ) The
Scrying Room
The Psychomanteum has a
malevolent presence hanging in the air. The evil here is profound and I can
only imagine what atrocities were once performed here.
9
) The Playroom Garret
I know the twins are watching me. I can catch glimpses of
them as they run and hide like some horrid little game. They laugh at me, but I
fear worse what will happen when they stop laughing.
10
) The Drawing Room (and secret
coffer)
The tea is still steaming hot, the crumpets freshly baked
and smelling delicious. I don’t know where they came from, but I am obliged. I
push it out of my mind that there isn’t anyone alive who could have set this
out for me.
The
treasures of the house was not all lost, for I have discovered a secret coffer
with unimaginable wealth. Dare I pilfer these tainted riches?
