This week - THE UNINTENTIONAL SENTRY

    The night's darkness hid the creature's approach. It emerged from the shadows, eyes gleaming with malice. Its monstrous form loomed over the deserted park.

    But just as it lunged, sprinklers sprang to life. The creature recoiled as water cascaded down. Fierce jets showered, unrelenting.

    Frustration contorted its face, but it couldn't breach the wall of liquid. The sprinklers danced like guardians, repelling the monster.

    Driven away, the creature retreated into the night, defeated by a simple system meant to water the plants. Freeflowing water was toxic to the thing.

    The town slept soundly, unaware of the guardian in their midst.
